Ages: 8-11 • Introduction to Astronomy
Learn more about our vast universe!
This introduction to astronomy class will acquaint students with very basic astronomy principles and a few notable historical people that made an impact on understanding our universe!
We will be working on creating a star chart, paper “telescope,” and a gravity experiment using common household items.
Astronomy is a really amazing branch of science that students enjoy learning about because they like to see our world in a different light! Going beyond our tiny planet gives students a chance to reflect on how our universe is so vast and incredible!
This class is the perfect length at an hour long to keep minds active and engaged! During class, students have time for q&a and have hands-on projects to work on - some of which students can complete during the week to extend the lesson with their parents.
Students will receive a weekly email with a supply list and project sheets.
Zoom link will be shared via a welcome email after registration closes - about a week before the class begins.
