In this interactive history class, students will journey through major world events, notable people, and historical milestones using and creating a visual timeline and working on history miniatures. Designed to help students understand the sequence of events and how they shaped the world, each historical event will be added to the timeline in order from the earliest recorded human history and over the course of the year, all the way to the present.
Throughout the course, students will build their own timeline book, allowing them to explore key moments in history in a hands-on way. Every timeline entry will be accompanied by a small illustration to give students a visual reminder of the events we discuss in class and aid in their recall. Ample time will then be given to work on painting historical miniatures and creating small scale dioramas.
